I have some great ideas that ive never seen or heard of before for a nice paintball game.

Ive always wanted to make a game, but dont really know how.

I was thinking of making the game a hl2 mod or something like that, i have visual c++ but no cd key for it.

So i was wondering if any one knows of a nice forum where i can get info on making a hl2 mod or making a video game, i tried googling but couldnt find any good forums.

Sry if you ask what my ideas are im not gonna post them because of suspicion that some one will steal the ideas, even tho i doubt that someone would. But ill tell you my ideas involve speedball and woodsball, sliding, bunker diving, and stats.

Well the thing is that it's extremely complicated and difficult stuff.
There already is a paintball mod for HL1, and that was designed by a team of people who had experience making those kinds of things.
Good luck, but I really doubt you'll get far unless you take classes or something.

If you don't know how to make mods or video games, you probably don't have a chance at making a decent game people would play. Sorry to burst your bubble so bluntly. If you really want to you could read up on mods/games, maybe take a class or two, and work with someone who knows what they're doing.

if pong and table tennis would have never appeared on ancient military computers, you wouldn't have even heard of an atari.

Basically, i knew a kid who in the 8th grade made his own video games, had graphic software, but it was an expensive project.

Read up pretty well on Q-Basic and download some cores from here:

There is an old sprite creator that had some nice effects but I can't remember the name of it. I know this game is going to be VERY basic, but it will give you a chance to get some experience and enjoy the fundamentals, and you may even make a neat game. But before u try to make something for people to play, you need to get ur feet wet or else ur going to fall flat on ur face wasting both of our times.

have you looked into XNA? I get to take a course in that in about 2-3 quarters. I've seen some of the stuff people have done, it's pretty sweet.
