my friend the other day was in need of some hard cash an was selling him tippmann 98 custom for 50 bucks with a hopper an tank. Everyone told him no, but he kept going lower an lower till he told me he'd do 25 bucks. i couldn't pass an offer up like that, almost brand new used it twice. My only worry is that he used actual gun oil on it, an hasn't touched it in a year. I heard thats ruff on the o-rings, do you think it will work or leak on me? havent got a chance to fill up my co2 tanks to see if it works yet?

itll be fine with some cleaning; years ago tippman actually told people to use hoppes for lube.

well worst case is you have to do a rebuild on it and that costs all of what? $3 or so

clean it, re lube it with paintball oil and you should be set

Use hoppes in 98 Customs for more than 10 years.
Not a single problem with my o-rings.
Stop doing so only because air tool oil or ATF is cheaper and comes in bigger bottles.
