Obviously, this is a stock Skyline, but it's still very impressive to see how hard the F1 pulls away.

sportscar wise its hard to beat. now total muscle wise...it can be beat. theres a 62 galaxy or soemthin that was built up into a street rod by some of the best in the biz. thing sports a 350 chevy w/ twin turbos. crankin out 1200 horses. even tho the suspension is lowed and upgraded immensely i still wouldn't try to take the curves like tha tguy can in the mclaren...

Exactly. As far as all-out drag racing, it's very possible to take down the F1. In the standing quarter-mile, the F1 runs an official 11.6, which is quite fast compared to other stock cars, but terrible when compared to die-hard drag racers. This is where the beauty of the F1 comes in.

Sure, a blown Chevy 425 pushing n2o and slicks is going to accelerate faster, a WRC-spec Impreza is going to handle a rally course better, and a Lotus Exige is going to slice through an autocross course faster, but none of those are road cars, and they were all built for a specific purpose. The McLaren was designed to be the best all-around sports car, and to date hardly any other car produces comparable numbers in every category of performance.

It's 1 million. None of this .5 business! I'm willing to bet the resale value on the F1 is outstanding.

The $540,000 quoted in the video is GBP (Pounds), so about $988,985.99 (plus tax).

1,000hp is hard to control, and is most definitely not streetable. those cars are meant to go in a straight line for a given distance (1,320 ft). a supercar like the McLaren is not geared for short, straight-line racing. it's made for twists and turns, just like the video. a 1/4 mile is not the only way to measure the speed of a car, people. as alstar said, "The McLaren was designed to be the best all-around sports car, and to date hardly any other car produces comparable numbers in every category of performance."

usually, people who own mclarens already own many houses, cars, etc. I don't think you can just go to a car dealership, plop down a mil and get an F1.
"Most of the existing owners intend to keep their cars for their lifetime - some even intend to pass them on to their own children. But ,just occasionally, an F1 becomes available through McLarens facilitation service, which helps to place existing F1's with new owners."
