Most games you get from torrents either are cracked (The CD key protection is bypassed), have a crack plugin that you have to manually install (Probably has instructions in a .txt file with it), or include a keygen program which will spit you out a possible working CD-key. If not, use google to look up a crack program for the game, or a keygen program. But be careful what you download, especially if it's in German...

After you download it, you might have to decompress it. It's probably in .zip or .rar format, if it's compressed. If not, just run setup.exe in the file's directory and install it like a normal game.

but btw how do you know if its a good download? some are bigger files than others

its not going to work.. you need a valid steam ID, and VAC2 will just block it. i wouldnt evne try considering it will just ban your account all together (including the games you own).

its like 20$ or something, just buy it like that.

downloading games is usually not a problem. the problem is playing online. there are barely any games you can download that you're able to play online. the cd keys are registered through the company and the company's servers, so if you try to use a cracked cd key online it will just be denied. offline and single player will work fine, but online is *usually* a no go.

also downloading games may require you to burn multiple cds. if you're searching for a newer game, check to see if theres a DVD version available. see you can mount an image onto your hardrive. usually its 1 cd at a time, so it wont work if you need like 4 cds to install a game. but if you use the dvd, you just mount the dvd and it will run it without ever having to burn it

i just download music now. i downloaded the first video in years (the decline of western civilization). its not worth downloading movies, your ISP will most likely pick it up and send a letter to your house warning you not to download anymore movies.
