I'm never heard of a spyder not being allowed. the only thing you really need to do, is to connect the tourney lock posts. you can wrap a wire around it, or use a jumper to do so. This will keep it in semi-auto mode and you wont' be able to change it unless you open the grips.

On that pictures, the red jumper is a tournament jumper. In my case, I have to remove it to turn into tournament lock, which means I will not able to change mode on my grip without reinstalling the jumper in place.

U have to pull out the tounry lock to make it legal. Thats how it's always been, it breaks the connection of the modes so only semi works

If u have the 04' models or any model they all have the little rectangular plastic piece on ur board which connects 2 prongs together(color may be black or red). All u have to do is take off that little rectangular piece out and it becomes tourny legal.( which means that the 2 prongs are showing)
