ok i play woodsball, sometimes the fields are small, other times we are looking for a half an hour to find the other guys. i dont live near any tournament fields so none of that. If i had to call it out, im either middle or back.
I was standing on the bank of the river and it all gave out, i was just happy i didnt go with my gun haha.

The marker, hooper and tank would have sank to the bottom right where they fell in. Did you pick them up?
If not can you get to them now?
What did you have, especially if it was a mechanical marker all it will need is a good clean and lube and you'll be good to go.

Of course if you want to use this as an excuse to buy new gear then it's all good.
To answer what do you want mechanical or electronic marker?
Do you want gravity hopper or an electric loader?
Do you want CO2 or HPA?
How much money will you be able to spend to geet new gear?

current was fast and the river is really deep i did look but i would have to dive at least 12 feet to start looking. Plus it was an electronic spyder so even if i did find it my bet is she will be toast.
I need to use c02 becuase there is no hpa near here, nore a real paintball field.
I could care less if it is mechanical or electronic, and i want a hopper that would go well with the marker. I am able to toss around about $400-$500.

Not trying to question the almighty martix :)-D) but would suggesting anyone a SP marker at this point be a good idea? I'm just thinking long term, parts will eventually get scarce for them, not to mention the lack of upgrades. Just my two cents, you know paintball much better than I do, though.

To OP, did you like the spyder? Meaning, did you like how it shot, consistency, etc? If you did, I don't see a reason why not to go with another one. For my part, I wish I would have kept mine from a while ago, or not bought an expensive G3 (which is still cheap by most standards) and gone with a cheap electro spyder.

its a spyder piolet, and it has a wierd feature that that wouldnt let the bolt move over a surtain bpm, or something like that. basically it kept speeds down so balls didn't get chopped which wasnt bad, but it was so slow. if i wanted to start playing more speedball do i keep thinking the same thing for a marker?

get a proto slg,
and ull have money left over
to get ur self a anti siphon tank
(seeing as you cant get hpa or n2)and
if you were looking to spend $400-500 ull have
money left over for upgrades(hopper,barrel,ect.)this
would be the way i would go. but i know there are more experienced
players here so u might wanna get some other opinions first.

SLG is a far overpriced sear tripper, no where near worth the pricetag they have on it

and moppy, please cut the slang out of your posts

i have to disagree with martix on this one which is rare but still, getting a marker from a company that went bankrupt and parts availability is going to drop as time goes on is a bad idea IMO. Id go with a spyder xtra with eye or the electra, both will be the same basic design as the spyder you had but have more features, after a CO2 tank you will have plenty left over for a fast hopper which, between the features of the new marker and a fast hopper, should easily be able to get more paint down range which is what looks to be one of your complaints of the other marker. and you would still have money left over for, a new mask? gear bag? tools? more paint!!!!!!

I would really like to hear the back story as to how this other marker ended up in the river though......
