Hi, I recently bought a PMI Trracer pump gun off Ebay. It's been heavily used so there's a lot of grime/grease and such on it, which I had to clean out with a toothbrush. Not a big deal when you consider I got it for thirty bucks, but the question is:

The safety switch is the standard push-button affair with red ring on one side. It, however, is a horrible pain to have to push - the grime is so caked up that I had to resort to a pair of needlenose pliers to get it fireable.

Is there any way I can replace, clean, fix or otherwise improve the quality of this safety switch? I'm looking at an inexpensive solution here as I am currently unemployed.

Also, the Trracer appears to be an older model in which the velocity is unchangeable (not sure on this - its serial number is 075962 if anyone can do anything with that).

If I were to discover its fps rate too high, how would I be able to bring it down to my field's cap? Are there any alternate methods that would allow me to change the velocity? Whether they're hard to access or not is not a problem.

I'm a big Trracer/Maverick fan myself, but all mine are adjustable velocity "Deluxe" models. I saw a few of what looked like old field rentals for sale on eBay but the guy couldn't tell me if they were Deluxes or not. I guess this answers the question.

To answer your question, I think you can cut the spring to adjust, but the big drawback there is that if you cut too much off, you can't put it back. I currently have a venturi bolt in one of my Mavericks, which of course does not have adjustable velocity, so I've been looking for a bolt or a parts gun to take one from.

I love these guns and still have my very first one. I was wondering if they had a following anymore.

I fixed the safety catch as a matter of fact - the spring holding it in place had been jammed in and the pin was stuck - and it works excellently now.

On to the velocity. Apparently there is an adjustable bolt floating around the market that you can install in your Trracer, and then use a hex wrench to adjust the velocity. Does anyone know of a place where I could buy such a bolt? If not, I'll check out mccarterbrown.
