the term for words that can be spelled with just a few letters but are really longer. Bad description, but a couple of examples are XSV, NRG, XTC. I think you get the picture. Does anyone know of a list of these words that exist online?

No i mean like Lol is Laugh Out Loud. Thats three words combined into one short thing that is an acronym. Energy is one word, and with "unnecessary" letters removed it becomes NRG, but when you say it outloud, it still sounds like energy.

I'm not sure you get what I'm asking. I'm asking for a term that when the individual letters are pronounced, you are actually saying another word. The example i've been using is N.R.G., En Ar Gee, or Energy.

it's just the omission of vowels usually. I took Linguistics last year and we never discussed a term for doing this kind of thing.
