i just bought a smart parts ion and it came with a Smart Parts Freak jr. with only one insert witch is a .693, from what iv read i have to buy large paint so that it matches the barrel. i was looking on ebay and they sell the inserts for these barrels, so i can change the bore size.

my question is, what is the most common bore size, something that when i go to buy paint they will always have it,

one more question, witch paint is best to have small, medium, or large? like everyone else im am trying to get the best accuracy out of my gun and if having a certain size of paint does that id rather by my insert according to that.

Thank You

I would get a .688 or something like that. But usually, I use the smallest bore I have. Whether its .679 or .682(not sure if that is the exact ones, but its very close).

is .688 the most common anyway

I dont really prefer it, but everything I seem to get is that size. Bigballs(Use to be good paint), stinger, all stars, marbalizers... they all seem to be about that size.

They give you a .693 insert because there is no way to know what size paint the field will have, and paint usually doesn't get bigger than .693. If you're looking to match the paint to bore every time you play, you're going to need at least three inserts to effectively cover the range of sizes that you will encounter, I would suggest .687, .689, and the .693 you have to cover everything larger.

Unfortunately freak inserts are one of the worst kits, their sizes tend to the most inaccurate. You might end up with a .687 that's more like a .6879, and a .689 that's more like a .6885; that's not going to be too useful.

The performance difference in matching paint to bore is pretty negligible, there's more productive ways to spend your money at this point in your paintball "career".

It depends on where you live (Weather conditions) and what kind of paint your store normally carries though. If you're just getting one more, .689 would be a bit of a safer choice, as more paint will fit it without a problem.

.689 seems to be the general vote for the most common bore size. at least that is what's in my gun 9/10's of the time. and if it isn't that it's .684
