I like the Ibanez better. Both have the locking tremelo system though so I guess it all boils down to how it plays. Personally I like Les Pauls better, I have never been a big fan of the tremelo systems. I play more along the style of Zakk Wylde and Slash and focus most of my music around pulling off the artificial harmonics which can be really difficult to do on some guitars. I turned down an Ibanez just for that reason once. I guess what Im getting at is I would never buy a buitar online without playing it. Are you set on the tremelo system? Ever thought of trying a higher end epiphone Les Paul? They are really nice and you can get the benifits of a $1600 Gibson for the price of a $800 Epiphone. The only difference between the two is the epiphones are made from common mahogoney whereas the Gibsons are made of "rare honduran mohagany" whatever kinda difference that makes. I cant tell the 2 apart once you move up to the higher end Epiphones.

well, im going over to guitar center (about an hour away) to try some out sometime soon. i do like les pauls, but the ibanez's and guitars with the locking tremelo system that i have played have been really nice. i also like the wizard II neck on the ibanez which is a big plus because of how thin it is. i will decide im bout 1 week. if i was to get a LP, which one would you suggest.

My personal favorites are the Gold top ones mid 60's. But things to look for are the trapezoid fret markers, the lower end les pauls have dot markers instead of trapezoids. But you have to play different ones until you find the one you love. That ended up being a 1983 Black Gibson SG for me. Oh I almost forgot, make sure that its the glue on neck in stead of the bolt on necks. A Les paul with a bolt on neck is really low budget and should be avoided. What kinda music you play?

guitar center on the delmar loop?? Anyway, I used to play an esp and i liked that a lot but now i have a schecter and its f'n awesome. Ive played a few les pauls and they are sweet, but way over priced imo. They have super thin necks and an awesome sound, its my favorite brand right now...although i havent played a lot of higher end guitars. I started out with a peavey, that thing was a piece then i moved to an $300 ibanez (ax100 or 120, somethin like that) and it was pretty sweet. Then to the esp kh-202 (kirk hammet series) and it was awesome, a lil better than the ibanez, and now i have a schecter c1 elite. Oh yeah, somewhere in there there was this pos squier that i bought from a friend for 40 bucks. Sooo...if you want to save a few bucks and have a sweet guitar, go with a scheter...from your list id prolly pic the ibanez cause ive never even held a moore. Oh yeah, jacksons are sweet too..the dinky's or whatever. I almost got one of those over my schecter, but they were out of stock.

[edit] the sg's are sweet too smitty, not only do they sound and play awesome ..they look f'n cool.

Ibanez, Epiphone, Les Paul, Jackson, those are some good companies. I would recommend a Les Paul because of all the good things people have said about them.

ah, ok..there is one in st.louis that i go to, thought it might be the same one. The guitars i listed above are awesome for metal or rock. Thats exactly what i play (also a lil punk) and i havent found any other guitar that is better than my schecter (although the iceman guitar is awesome now that i think about it)

You may want to try a Dean "Dimebag Darrell" guitars they are nice for metal. Hey is Rythem City still in Atlanta? Last time i drove thru there they had a big KISS mural on the outside of it that you could see from the interstate. Theres also a place up there called Wizard electronics that specialize in retubing amps. I got my Marshall retubed and rebiased there years ago and its about due again.

personally I think epiphones play like crap compared to gibsons, but it's opinion. I got my les paul used for $540. just gotta search. I never buy new guitars. wayyy to expensive. Got my PRS 22 custom w/birds for $1,200. I went to same ash the next day and saw the exact same guitar new just a different shade of green for $3,700. PRS>all

Don't get B.C Rich, they suck. You would be much better off with an Ibanez or Epiphone than a B.C. rich guitar.
