Everyone knows Tippmanns are probably the most solid markers they are....never break easly and dont take much matnience at all plus they almost never need tuning and stuff...

I was playing today and i chopped and chopped and chopped all day...With PMI Premieum (I heard these are even good paintballs for Flatlines so they cant be that bad can they?) in my Progressive barrel on my A5. I squeegeed almost after every 20 shots or less. The whole day i probably got about 100-200 clean shots off and the rest broke, out of a estemate of 700 shots. I did change barrels and the same thing happined. Tuned my Velosity and everything. Even without the RT they still burst in my barrel.

Today after i got home from paintballing i ran water threw my barrel and cleaned the barrel out until it was as clean as it came new. So i go out and shoot probably 20 and a few broke....so i turned my velosity almost completly down not sure what ammount since i dont know how to measure it and it shot fine even with the RT after that.

So do i really need to keep my barrel that clean to prevent busts for almost every shot i take? Or do i need new paint, or is it my velosity...

Thanks in advance....Im a Tippmann Noob =(

big_balla89 im not using a flatline im using a progressive.

My paint i dont believe was misformed or wet at all. when they came in the bag they had some moister on them from oil or somthing so i cleaned it off with a towel (every single ball in the 1000 batch) they were pretty much as try as they could get. If i looked very very very closly they did have a very very dimple on them tho....no bigger than about a ballpoint pen. and i dont mean deep dimple just a small dimple.

Also the Barrel is a Progressive so what size or paint would match the barrel the best...maybe the PMI Premium are bigger bore than i thought.

I played with a progressive on my spyder last year with premiums, worked great. idk what the problem is, it sounds like velocity, but idk, if youre turning it down all the way, its not going very fast.

I know it defintly wont go very fast...but i havnt notice a diffrence really even after turnning it all the way down and up. That is tho im shooting 10 feet until it breaks....so i probably shouldnt notice lol.

Arnt progressives for spyers a little diffrent in bore size compared to tippmanns tho...i know the threads are but i was looking at my friends progressive with his Phiranna and it seemed smaller.

Try this: Take the barrel off your marker. Drop a paintball down the barrel. It should get stuck at some point. Try to blow the paintball the rest of the way through the barrel. If it's too hard to blow it through, then the paint is too big.

They should fit, though. Both the paint and barrel are .689. I still think you got a bad batch somehow.

hmm....i tried this somtimes the paintball dropped straight down the barrel and somtimes it sticks. Maybe they are difformed becuase i used the same paintball over and over. Just depends on what angle you put the ball down i guess....

I'd get different paint.. If you have some left do the bounce test on some of them. Should be able to drop it a couple times from waist high onto linoleum and have it not break. If your paint looks good though it probably is. I had some obvioiusly bad paint and it broke just like your are describing. Sucked bad.

The barrel test should result in a quick roll thru the barrel the ball should not get stuck.

The ball should not fall right thru, and it should not get stuck. It should sort of roll thru.

Well i didnt want to bring this up since i sound like a noob but, i had some left over paint in a ziploc bag with about 200 balls. I was carring everything from the car all my bags and stuff in and i droped the paint bag lol. Half of them broke so i had to take them in and clean the bag off....so maybe that means they are cheap ill try bouncing it tho.

from what i have read, it is supposed to get stuck, and be able to blow it down the barrel, because if it could roll through, its too small of paint.

I think its sopose to get stuck too becuase if it rolls right through it has room to move around in the barrel which could make the paint hit a side of the barrel and break. I think my paint was missformed or w/e becuase it depends what side or somthing i put the paint down the barrel on one side it would roll right down then i turn it a little and it would get stuck....so im guessing its just missformed paint but ill try other stuff next time i go and buy some paint.

get a different barrel its probably not the A-5 unless some of the internals are messed up. I got a progressive barrel too and i'm not to happy with it i doesn't break any balls but it does have very inconsistant results for accuracy, range, ect... put your stock barrel on and try that. if that dont work adjust your rt the rt's have a reputation to be incosistant and chop if not adjusted completly right.

I just played today...some shots are very accurate and some arnt i think i just got some dirt in the barrel becuase it was accurate all day until the end
i might adjust my velosity later when i have time in between games. Im just happy i wasnt chopping today it was the paint that was screwed up.
