Let's just get to it, at our local woodsball field it seems that players will push really hard to progress until they meet resistance which is fine in the first 5-10 min of gameplay but then once that initial herd thinning has happened everyone that is left kind of just posts up and waits for the other to make a wrong move or something. Im ok with this when there is 3 to 1 odds but when teams are equal at this point are there any ideas to keep the game moving. We mostly just do your standard elimination, any ideas such as an objective or something to keep them progressing, have tried flags at either end of the field but it usually just turns into an elimination game.

1) time limits. This game lasts for X minutes. If there are still live players on both sides at the end of X minutes, both teams lose

2) gone in 60 seconds. Tell the players they must keep moving, if you catch them sitting in one spot for more than 60 seconds you are calling them out. This one is a pretty good motivator, usually you don't have to call anyone out, just give them warnings

3) respawn games, this game lasts for X minutes, unlimited respawns at the back so there is no down side to getting out. Keep moving and be aggressive
