Leaking CO2?

Hey all. New player here with a question.

I played all day (8 hours) a few days ago with my new stock Custom Pro, and everything worked perfectly.

However, as we were packing up, I was dry firing (just for giggles, I guess) just to use up gas before I disconnected. As I was firing, the cocking bolt got caught on my sleeve and proceeded to bounce back and forth like it was a full auto gun or something. It kept going, the strokes getting weaker and weaker until it finally ran out of gas.

Afterwards, I put on my friends C02, which was still mostly full and tried a few dry-fires. I then noticed CO2 coming out of the cokcing bolt are every time I fired. I had to get packed up and leave, and haven't used it since then.

I took it apart to clean it and nothing looked out of the ordinary (o-rings all seemed fine), but I am just getting started in paintball and don't have the mechanical wisdom to know what to look for.

Do you think something is wrong with it, or was it just too cold from getting stuck in an 'auto-fire' fit?

Thanks for any advice!

That means you ran out of CO2. Seeing that it is summer, you would be able to see CO2, even with your tank. Unless there was a lot leaking out.

It snagged your sleave and the hammer didn't latch like it normally would have. Nothing to worry about, just re-cock it and keep going. Like big said, it'll do the same thing when you're out of CO2.

As for the CO2 from the cocking slot, that's also not something to worry about. The gun uses the CO2 to fire the ball forwards, and also to push the rear bolt backwards to recock. The gas from pushing the bolt just takes the easiest path out of the body, usually that slot. On a cold day, and even more so if you have the tank tilted valve down, you'll see CO2 spray from nearly every opening on the body when you shoot.

Nice that you took it apart looking for trouble anyway. Keep it up

Ok, that makes me feel better. It was just that I hadn't noticed gas escaping the cocking bolt all day long, but then gain I hadn't been actively looking at it while I fired.

I thought I'd broken some sort of seal or something because it wasn't supposed to move that fast.

Well, on to decide what to add

I've already decided I'm getting an Ariak. Overlord pistol. I can think of a ton of fun games we could do with pistols only. Then again, maybe it is just the fact that I miss playing Pistols on Hang Em' High....

Thanks for the kind replies. I thought for sure I'd get sworn at for being so noob ;p

Everything is normal. I get a little of gas leaking out of my cocking bolt on my a-5 too.
as for the rapid firing thats normal as well it means your co2 is empty.
