Any *safe* ways to talk apart 98C w/out losing parts?

I prolly sound retarted but last time I took apart my 98C, I lost a bunch of parts..but i want to clean it up a bit to keep it maintained, and also do the orthodonic bands and clicky pen spring mods. So any suggestion to keep me from losin a bunch of pieces?

Leave the hopper elbow attached when you spilt the sides apart. That will stop the front sight spring from jumping out and getting lost. Work on the floor, on a light colored towel. That way you can't drop anything, and everything you set down will stand out against the background.

the only parts that you have to worry about are the screws and maybe the rear sight.

I wouldn't do the orthodontic band mod. It's unreliable and the bands can break causing your gun to go into a very fast full auto.

one of my brothers friends tried to disassemble it while it was cocked....

Just work on a flat surface and be careful.
