shots are curved???!!!

i just started playing woods ball...i have a flatline 98c....my shots curve somtimes...more like 5 out of 10 times when im aiming at somthing...could it be the wind??? how much of a difference do wind make...or could it be the paintball??? cuz i did look at the balls and some of them had dimples...and how much do they affect my shot....or maybe i just need to align my flatline....pissin me off...bout to get a new gun.....

holla at ya boy....

Well, the dimpled paint wouldn't help things.

With the flatline, you need to make sure it's all lined up straight.
Just as important is the velocity. It'll need to be around 285 or less for them to stay straight.

The wind, not so much. It'll push your paint around a little but it shouldn't be too crazy.

i know im sad, but i will quickly go through each 500 bag i use and pull out any dimpled balls because they will fly all over the shop. i use them in my cannon for woods ball. i also found the flatline not as accurate as i would have hoped. my 20 tiller barrel was more accurate then my 90 flatline.

well did you bust any paint in your barrel? that would make them curve hella bad...

the dimpled paint doesnt help anything...

and it just depends on how bad the wind is blowing... last saturday it felt great outside but the wind was blowing out crazy which made it hella hard for me to snap because i would have to curve the balls because they would go to the right every show a lil ways but it wasnt nothing crazy.

okay so i think its my paint then...but what about the velocity...like i said im pretty new at this...in my mind i think cranking the velocity up sky high would be awesome....but does that change my shot too??? like make it curve???????

another quick question....i have a flatline only with my 98c....what should i get next...i was thinking a RT, Exp C, or a Cyclone hopper....but what do i really need????

Yea, turning it up will completly make it curve or just make the paint explode.

Flatlines work best at safe, field legal velocity levels. Like 285 or so.

No turning the velocity way up would not be "awesome" at all.
Why you say? Let us examine a few points:
  • you will break paint like crazy - the pressure will just destroy the paint in the breech. If you have a flatline, it is a mo fo to get all that paint out of the barrel.
  • You think your paint curves now, with the extra pressure behind the ball, you will not get the full ballistic effect of the barrell physics and your paint will go wildly crazy, if it doesn't just burst as in point #1.
  • You will aggrivate field owners. 300 fps is thier rule, its set that way for a reason, don't exceed it.
  • You would be playing in an unsafe manner. Certainly modern equipment can absorb a hot shot to a mask and all that, however, your skin under that flimsy jersy or t-shirt really can't. You can do serious injury breaking skin, infections, and scars if you are shooting over a safe limit.

So just do what Torch says and shoot at 285 and live with it...

If I find out that you cranked your velocity up over 300 at a field I will hunt you down and beat you with 3 year old rotten oranges.
