A5 or 98 custom????!!!!

..... my buddy at work offers me his A5 w/ response trigger, a barrel on it and 2 tanks.....he wants 275 for it.....he played with it 4 times at the most...now he got a ion....the A5 kit alone at the store is like 280..

right now i have a 98 custom with a flatline barrell...

if i get the A5 i was gonna sell my 98 w/o the flatline for 80 bucks...and give my flatline to my bro...

then i was gonna sell the barrell that came w/ the A5 and the response trigger. and put a Flatline barrell on it....then later get a e grip.....

now heres the question....do you guys think this is worth it...maybe save my money and soop up my 98c...???

i hear alot of better things about the 98c...so im iffy about this...i don't want to regret it...but then again i could always trade on and off with my bro if i get sick of the A5.....i need to hear some pros and cons...

thanks...

I'd sell the 98C w/ the flatline (A5 has its own flatline)

I'd buy that A5. Thats a solid deal - btw which barrel kit?

Ive played with both recently and to me they are basically the same gun, its just that the A5 comes with the cyclone feed already on it.

if i had a A5 with a flatline and a 98c with a flatline....would they work the same????
the only advantage i see the A5 have is that it can upgrade to a E grip.... but using a RT with the A5 would slow it down cuz of the Cyclone and they would both be using excess air....is that true too?????

oh he bought a barrel kit at scheels....i think its called the freak kit....he included that with the A5 deal....

its up to you.

Freak Kit = great

RT already insalled = great

its a good deal, and yes the A5s RT is slower due to the cyclone sharing enery, but the cyclone runs off of CO2, it uses its own extra bit of CO2. The RT runs off of excess blow back CO2, it does not use any extra gas to work.

If I were using an A5 i'd go with a 20oz tank, end of story.

Skapunkin hit the sweet spot. RT and the Cyclone feed work off of gas that the gun wasn't going to be used (AKA, excess).

heaps and heaps of people have an A5 too... and it speaks for Tippmann, it really does.

Being original is nice, but seeing everyone with the same model gun is also nice - it only goes to show that the 98C and A5 are tried and true.

I honestly prefer the 98c, but thats a really good deal, keep the barrel that comes with the A5 and the RT, an E-Grip tends to be more trouble while playing woodsball..

Yeah I really gotta post again - you have an opportunity at a SWEET deal right now. Don't be a fool, if you decide you made the wrong decision you can always sell that A5 and freak kit for a pretty penny. Probably MORE than what you had to spend to get it.

dont worry about a ball breaking it probly aint gonna happen and if it does happen your a-5 is probably screwed or needs to be adjusted...

If you get a barrel break I think you... hmmm

On a 98C you just run a squeegee from the breech into the barrel and out the end... but the A5 is different for obvious reasons.

To ease your concern I haven't seen any of the flatlined A5s out there barrel break. I play with like - 4 guys who use a flatline A5, very popular setup.

The work good together i have them both, it does use more gas but its worth it.
The speed is worth a little extra.

Tippys are definately NOT for newbies. There are better guns out there, like the Shocker and the DM6. They're very cheap and affordable! :P
