Question about Polished Internals

I am going to do this but it says to use 300 grit sand paper and 600 grit.. my local stores finest grain was 220... Is grain and grit the same thing because mine is 220 grain not grit.. The maine question is can I use 220 or is that to rough

um.....id say if you have to use it, use it but be careful. dont take off too much, just enough to smooth it out...do you have steel wool? you can use that too....

if you can wait until you can get 300 or finer, id do it.

220 is way rougher than 600.. I'd just be patient and get the right type..

I used 00 then 000 steel wool for mine.

Yeah thats a pretty big difference for sand paper grit. where did you get the info for polishing internals?
