98 velocity again.

I know I made this thread already, while rather then resurecting it, I just decided to make a new one.

Ok so last time we had a messed up chrono. This time my gun was still shooting over 300 fps. I had the velocity nut turned all the way IN (which is down) and it shot 297. 297 fps all the way in!!! That's insane! This time the chrono was working fine, no one else had this problem. Is it becouse my 98 is still pretty knew or do i need to take its roids away or what????

Maybe get a madman spring kit, or any spring kit with different strength springs, and use the lighter springs. When I used the red (hard/stiff) spring, my velocity went up, so using the lighter spring should make the velocity go down. Just a suggestion. But since the gun is new, you shouldn't have to do anything; the problem shouldn't exist, so maybe someone can help you out so you don't have to modify your gun and buy something.

EDIT: You have an E-Grip... I didn't read well. My suggestion should be void then. Sorry buddy.

Try getting an adjustable Regulator for it. That should allow you to reduce the amount of air entering the gun, thus reducing the total pressure.. i think.

Get an RVA or a Palmer....or Both
Either one of these will address your velocity issues and make your marker more efficient.

The Palmer would add consistency to your rig.

I was planing on getting a tippmann expansion chamber, That should decrease the amount of liquid making it have less velocity, Do you guys think Reg or Expansion, I'm on a kinda tight buget.

The reg would be the best choice.

Yea that's a pretty hot velocity there.

The reg is pretty much garanteed to drop the velocity. Get one that can tolerate CO2. The Stabilizer is held in high regard for this. Any other reg that claims either CO2 ready or Omnigas or whatever else would be ok as well.

The expansion chamber may help if the problem is caused by liquid CO2. If not, well then you've strapped more parts onto your gun with no likely result.

An anti-siphon tube install for your tank could cure any liquid problem as well.

I don't see why the spring kit wouldn't work with a tippmann that was E-gripped.

Instead of a regulator I'd get a HPA tank if I were you. And it's letting way to much air into the barrel. Might make sure your screws that hold the CVX to the body are tight. And it would seem that either the CVX spring is to weak or your striker spring is to weak. One of them is letting way to much C02 through.

HPA tanks are $100 i'm on a tight buget!

A remote would work much like and anti-siphon right? with the tank siting upright??? Thats what i'm looking at, An Expansion chamber with remote should do the trick i'm thinking...... Or should I just give in and get an expensive reg?

I just unscrewed the velocity screw to where it should normally be, It shot 450 fps.... lol scary.

i doubt that liquid co2 getting in your gun would cause your velocity to be that high. do what they said and get a good reg that can handle co2, or get a palmers stabilizer

Well I put my 20 oz tank back on the gun again, and shot off a couple more balls, when I realized that I had been using it for a long time. I looked down at the case of paint I had shot with it and seen only 1 bag left!

I'm getting excellent gas efficienty right now, like 1500 so far per tank! I'm starting to think that its not a pressure problem becouse of the great efficientecy. It's probbly a spring problem..... I'm going to switch the springs with the extra ones I got with the marker and then we'll see.

I ordered a remote becouse I was getting one regaurdless of the velocity problems, and I'm thinking the expansion chamber is all I need, the regs are to expensive.
