tippy let me down...

i had my friend over today and we built a speed ball field and he wanted to buy my 98c with a response trigger, double trigger, vert air adapter, palmers male stab, drop forward, CP 12" barrel, and a rocket cock. well i said "ok, lets go test it out". he screwed in the tank and then it started leaking out of one of the macro fittings near the asa. then i said well let me go tighten that. then it still leaked so i took it off adn hooked the tank up to the vert adapter adn then it started leaking out of the velocity adjuster. then i thought it was set too high from when the stab was on, so i lowered the velocity. then it was all set to go and we put paint in, and then it chops. it never used to chop on me. i said i could take the response trigger off and it would most likely b fixed and then he said he really only wanted it for the response because he already has a spyder xtra. so he was not impressed at all with performance and didnt buy it. i must say that this was dissapointing, becuz 1, i need to get rid of my guns to make room for my ion, and 2, tippmanns are supposed to be the most reliable guns.

and it is also weird because my 98 ALWAYS used to work fine except for a leak maybe when i had the stabilizer on.

but i did sell him my halo tsa that was broken, but we crazy glued the shell back together. and then i sold my other friend who helped with the field my PCS US-5 electric and a mask, hopper, and 9 oz. so idid just make 150$.

and i still have to sell the tippy and a diablo sabotage....

but the good thing is the field came out great. i cant wait to play there on friday

15 bucks for labor and possibly a few more bucks for possible o rings. So 25 or less id say.

ok, sorry to bring this back but i think i know what the problem is. somebdy on pbn told me to check the buffer o-ring so i did and it seemed fine. then i gassed the gun up and shot and it did not uncock this time. it just shot in a full auto sort of way. i believe this would be a worn out sear, correct?

and can i get replacement sear at like tippmann parts.com or something?

i'd check your sear spring b4 you check the sear.. i think the spring would be cheaper if that were the case than replacing the sear.

well i have a stronger spring, but i think thats whats in there now because i have a RT on the gun but its disabled. so the strong spring for the RT should be in there and i felt it when i tested it today and it seemed fine. nice and strong

and i just realized what you get when you press the 's' key instead of 'd' on the last letter of 'tested' lol.

does the sear look worn? also it may uncock or make that full auto sound if you're not running at the right pressure, or if your gun isnt oiled very well.

hmm, that's quite the weird scenario.. lol, i guess if the sear looks worn then replace it... how old is the tippy, and how much shooting did it see?

its a bit over a year old and it has seen a fair amount of shooting. not too much though really. i only played about 5 days with it. but i did used to shoot it at a target like crazy.

and i cant really see too much wear on the sear but it is a very slightly worn down. also the rear bolt seems like it may be the most worn down thing. i think ill just replace both for 21$ from the site i gave above. pretty cheap. they also suggest to replace the rear bolt and sear together because the other may wear out quickly otherwise or sumthin like that.

i just got both so no matter which one it is the problem will (hopefully) be fixed. and it was only 28$ with shipping so its not a big loss of $$. and i also got some Ion ups and otehr stuff from a diff place so QEV, NDZ bolt, NDZ Roller trigger, tank cover, ion lube, and some spyder elbows for my backup which is a stock xtra.

i just hope the sear and bolt fix the problem because i really want to sell the 98 and get rid of some of my other stuff with it.

damn, i had another friend wanna buy it and he tried it out for a few games and it was chopping and stuff! this gun never used to cause me problems anbd now it does. i think i may just take it to my proshop and have them get it working flawlessly, so unless they have to get parts thats like 15$ or so, unless its something weird and they cant figure it out in an hour.

but, the kid still wants to buy a 98 so hes gonna buy a new one for like $130 and then he wants to buy my CP barrel and palmers male stab and stock for $80 and he doesnt realize what a deal hes passing up! i was gonna sell the gun and accesories to him for $125 and he bought my egg for $40. maybe ill try to see if he'll buy it if i get it fixed, but i hope i'm not stuck with a gun that doesnt work forever!
