*walking The A5*

i think i got an idea that would provide a trigg. that could be walked. get an egrip and do the clicky pen mod so you have a trigg. that takes very little pull to trip the switch. then get a double trigg. to cap it off.

how would you make the a5 trigger like a hair trigger?

I'd lighten the spring or use a pen spring like you did.

Then I'd find a way to drill and tap the trigger for some trigger stop set screws to handle fine adjustment. If the microswitch proved to be a problem I would look for a 'sharper (quicker and less sloppy activation point) or a 'lighter' one for less of a pull.

Sounds like your a step a head of me so I am going to just run with it

The only down side to putting the screws in, is the stock plastic trigger and most of the plastic double triggers are too soft to take the threads very well and would strip with use. So one would have to be made out of metal or Lenex (sp?) if you want to stick with a plastic.

Also in Tippmanns the switch is close to the trigger's pivot point so it needs a longer pull. But if you move the switch down to roughly the middle of the trigger it will shorten the pull needed to trip the switch.

making a trigger stop sounds interesting but like Mortisdeum said it would be hard to tap plastic w/o it stripping...possibly glue?

bending the microswitch might get rid of the travel it takes to trip it. you know that metal peice on the switch. bend it upward a little bit.

torch, we are working with the egrip. not the stock grip. i think even with the spring mods and all that other crap, the stock grip cannot be walked.

does the team called the Tippmann Effect walk? and what is their trigg. setup?

The egrip still has the single trigger on it though? Or was that replaced already.

I belive so but their guns were Custom built by Tippmann so they have a bunch of factory Mods already installed.

Also If some one could get me the measurements for an A-5 Trigger. I could see if it would be possible to machine a trigger with 3 points of adjustment for the E-grip. I already have the measurement for the 98.

lets clear some stuff up..

we are working with a super stock tippmann a5 egrip.

you take the stock single trigger out and replace it witha double trigger.

then you do the trigger spring mod.

waht do you mean measurements? are u talking about the trigger travel?

I've already done this to my 98. It is pretty darn fast. In semi-auto I can hit 10-12 bps. I've even been cheacked for full-auto modes before when I was in semi.

Na I meant like height width, location of holes, ect... So I could mess with an idea in CAD. Cause I know the A-5 rigger is a different shape then a 98s
