Tippmann A-5 Barrel Replacement

I just got into paintball last month. I own a Tippmann A-5 and mainly play woodsball in oak forests with little brush. You can see another player far away most of the time. Because of that I would like my gun to shoot longer distances and with less curve.

Right now I do a lot of running to get close enough to another player to hit them. That's mainly because of the stock barrel I imagine. I would rather snipe them from a distance of course, but will continue to run (I'm a runner).

I'm looking at a flatline barrel or a J&J ceramic 20" sniper barrel. I like the look of the flatline and it should be easy to run with. I'm thinking the J&J barrel would be easier to maintain and maybe even more accurate.

What do you guys think is a good barrel choice for my situation? Also give advice if you actually own a A-5, flatline barrels on a 98C are different in accuracy I've read and believe.

go with wat D*15 said, i have a friend with the a5 flatline and i have a flatline on my model 98, they were the best thing to happen to our guns. the 20 will give you that accuracy but it will be hard to run with because u obviously have 20 inches hangin out the front of your gun, you'll be hittin trees and everything else with that. the flatline will give u the same accuracy and range as the 20 and only be about 12 inches.

I've used a flatline and a J&J barrel. Here's what I have to say.

The 20 in J&J will not make you shoot farther, it will only waste more gas. Almost all paintball barrels will fly the same distance bacause the velocity of the paintballs is 300 feet per second or less. The only acceptions are the BT Apex barrel and the Flatline.

The Flatline: It will add a little bit of distance bacause it puts a back spin on your ball. It will also have a flater terdetory, meaning the ball will not ache as much in the air. Because of the spin, it slows the ball down, meaning the ball will not break as easly. The flatlines are a little different to aim, so people say they are inaccurate, but once you get used to them, you can be farely accurate. The flatline will also require a good amount of maintaince and it will break paint in the barrel easyer.

The J&J- buy a 14 or 16 inch at the most. It will be decent in accuracy but not the best. It's best quality is it's low mainance. Breaking a ball in the J&J dosn't affect it as much as other barrels (it still does) and all it needs is a quick battle swab or sometimes even just a couple dry fires and it's good to go.
