Angry Tippmanns Are Not 4 Speedball

Ok I've just recently made an account on this site but I've been playing paintball for a good 4-5years now. I've read on multiple occasions people saying that tippmanns are an acceptable woodsball and SPEEDBALL marker. wtf?!?!?!!? no if you try an seriously join an nppl, psp, etc team with a modded a-5 you will get laughed off the field. I loved my old 98, but stop saying that you can dominate a speedball game with it. I'm sure that in woodsball you can hit somebody from miles away lol with your flatline barrel, but in speedball thats not realistic. Do you seriously believe that a 98 witha flatline etc can win a snapbattle with a Ego, DM, BL?!?!! I'm not hating on Tippmanns, because there awsome in the woods and there insanely upgradable, but if I read another post telling a new player that buying a tippmann will effectively allow them to play speedsball and woodsball Im going to start killing [email protected][email protected][email protected][email protected]! (my rant is now over)

you've discovered the reason i don't suggest them; however you're really taking this point too far and generalizing tippman users.

there is/was a professional team that used tippmans; check out tippman effect

I think a good player can win a speedball game with any marker. If you've been playing paintball for five years I'm sure you've run into a few guys that are going against the trend and playing with something that doesn't look like a typical speedball marker. My speedball marker of choice is my PPS Pug and before that my Phantom and I have no problem outshooting guys with electros. Speedball has nothing to do with how fast you shoot and everything to do with how fast you move.

i think the gear is not a HUGE part of the player performance.
the comment about a tippy "winning" a snap shooting contest against a Ego, DM, whatever is rather ignorant! it's the players skill more than anything.

yes but that blender they call a feeder doesnt exactly make a small target, in a snap contest you wont be winning because you shot them straight in the chest, it will be because you caught an inch of something sticking out, and 3 inches of hopper doesnt help you

nah, it won't help.
but on the field it's NOT gun v. gun...it's player versus player.

I think there is too much emphasis placed on gear as a whole in this game. A lot of players I see at the field nowadays spend more time showing off their gear and shooting ropes over the chronograph than they do on the field.

true but equipment does play a roll, i may be the worlds best driver but i wouldnt win a race (drag or street) against a mustang if i am driving my civic. so yes experience can make up for sucky equipment but i believe its only to a degree, if everyone in a snap shootout has the same experience level then the person with the A5 is going to have a paint covered hopper by the end of the day

I built up a 98C with all the goodies, not a stock part left on the thing-

Cut up body
E-Bolt kit, modified with a double action ram
QEV's on the ram
Mini-Morlock Board, internal cuts for the eye wires
New Bolt, Powertube
Spring kits
Regulator
Low-Pressure Kit
Custom Trigger

The day I finally put it all together for testing, one thought filled my head "Damn. This is a big, heavy, long gun."

Have a Tippmann for Recreational speedball against your buddies? Sure.
As a rental? Sure.

But really, now a days for the same price point you can get any number of electro-blasters that will be better suited to the speedball field.

Yes they can be. Go look up tippmann effect.

Is it smart to bring one on a speedball field? Probably not, you can do a lot better then even the most tricked out tippmann.

stop arguing for the one corporate sponcered team, remember, they got paid to do that. its not like they called it "Autococker effect" if all the pros out there had a choice in the marker they are useing do you think there would be so many shockers out there?
