Smile should i get a resonse trigger?

i need some help. was considering getting a response trigger for my old tippman 98 and i was wondering where i could find a cheap one. i saw a kit with tons of parts and the actual trigger which should i get? i want the one that's easier to install. also i was wondering if i should get an electric hopper to keep up with the response trigger? or can i get by with the stock hopper? also, should i worry about installing it myself, or should i take it to a local paintball place?

thanx 4 the help

if you can find one for super cheap then sure (under $40) but gennerally the 98 is not worth upgrading because nomatter what you do to it you will not be able to resell it for more than about $120 (figure on $100) gennerally it is a much better idea to sell it now and get something else that is better out of the box (spyder vs1 for example)

best upgrades for a 98 are a fast hopper and a HPA tank, because those can go onto whichever marker you get next

clean it ya, really you can just hose down a 98, dry it afterwards and put a few drops of paintball oil (no wd-40 or motor oil, these will eat away at the seals) into the ASA, screw the tank back on and dry fire it a dozen times to work it into the marker. or you can just do it by hand with paper towels sure.

i still recomend you just sell the 98 and go with something else, when mods start costing over half of what its worth, its time to move on, what youll run into with the RT is you will be firing so fast that you will start to chop pretty bad, this will force you to then upgrade the hopper, also if your still using co2, espeshally since its winter now you will run into problems with the co2 as well, then you will want a expantion chamber, expansion chamber is a fix yes but it may have to say with the 98, HPA is a MUCH better fix than an expansion chamber, so i say get the HPA tank, and a hopper now, then sell the 98 and go with something else

HPA= high pressure air
ASA= air sorce adaptor (where you screw your tank in)

the reason you didnt have problems with the co2 in the cold weather is because you were not firing fast enoufgh to encounter any problems, with a RT you will be firing a lot faster and can easily encounter these problems

as for your friend, the only reason a spyder would break that offten is because of user error

i know it seems easy to upgrade your tippy, thats because thats exactly what tippmann wants you to do, to dump rediculous amounts of money into products that will make your marker so so.

im not the only one here that will tell you another marker is the way to go

CO2 at high rates of fire is a nightmare no question about it and cold weather makes it worse. The response trigger is a nice upgrade to get some extra speed out of your 98 but you will need a new hopper to keep up a gravity feed won't cut it and you should invest in HPA if you can't use HPA at your field than look into a CO2 friendly regulator. A new hoppper, HPA and a regulator will easily cost as much if not more than your 98 but at least these can be used on a new marker.

You can get HPA tanks as low as $50 but they are about the equivelent of a 9oz co2. id recomend shooting for a used 68/4500, roufghly the equivalent of a 20oz co2, they will run you about $100 for one in good hydro

what hopper are you looking at?

as for the new marker, just judging by how much experience you seem to have, id say go look for either a new Spyder VS2 (or RSX they are the same marker with a different board) or a used Smart Parts Ion XE (or at least a ion with BOB, dont get one that is standard, they are a pain to work on) both can be had for around the same price ($160 or so) so if you sell your 98 and put that $65 you were going to use on the RT towards a new marker you will come out with something much better

bad idea, iv never owned an egg but from what i know of the egg3 it is not a true force feeder, it is an agitator. your best option is a used halo b or preferably a empire reloader (they are 99% the same exact hopper with the difference being the circut board, the halo uses eyes to see the paint whereas the empire uses ears to hear when the marker fires)

BOB stands for Bolt Out Back, the normal version of the ion you have to compleatly disasemble to get the bolt out and clean it, BOB makes it much easier

best place for used gear is EBAY or the BST section here or on PBN (i much prefer ebay)

nitrogen is the same as HPA, it costs more to get pure nitrogen but seeing as 70% of air already is nitrogen theres no point in making it 100%, yes the tippmann will work fine on it (better than co2 actually)

they are the same in the sence that they all hold air, but a 48/3000 does not nearly hold the same amount of air as a 68/4500

for cheap gear go to ebay
