my gun will not shoot

Im a newbie at paintball so hang with me. I have a tippmann A5 with flatline and e-grip. My gun was shooting fine with just the flatline, but when i installed the e-grip it started chopping alot, and sending the balls anywhich way. I was shooting outside my house and it suddenly stopped fireing paintballs but it was still fireing. shortly after continuing to shoot it trying to get it to fire paintballs I ran out of Co2. I dont know if its just a simple problem like out of co2 or something worse. Also how do I get it to stop chopping paintballs. I was using very cheap paintballs. Also since i have all of this paint on my barrel do I have to clean it. Thanks

well you are using the horrible combination of the a5 and the flatline, the cyclone cant always keep up with higher rates of fire (that your getting from the e-grip), and it will start chopping paint, the flatline on the other hand is not very gentle on paint, forcing it to go through that S is hard on it, so that also may be where some of it is breaking.

i suggest 2 things

1)since the flatline doesnt give you any extra distance anyway, get rid of it and get a J&J ceramic barrel ($30) it will be a lot lighter, more accurate and much much genteler on the paint

2) use better paint, cheap paint in the setup you have is just asking for trouble

the only redeaming quality about the straightline is that it has different sized backs, you get better accuracy from the different sized backs, the rifeling does nothing in paintball, the flatline is one of the worst barrels in paintball, heavy, loud, no added range, hard on paint, bad accuracy, and expensive

i suggest either a J&J ceramic or if price is really no concern a DW fibur kit ($150ish) but concidering the DW is about the same price as the marker you have, id get a J&J for the A-5 then whenever you move on to a better marker get a good kit for it

okay another problem. as I said in the post above once my gun started chopping balls It stopprd working. Co2 was going through it but it wasnt fireing paintballs. not even chopping them. i took my gun apart (thanks youtube) and looked inside. there wasnt a paintball lodged in there but alot of paint. I cleaned out the paint and put my gun back together. When i put it back together i put the nut for the foregrip in upside down and my new foregrip wouldnt go on.(also with my new forgrip Im supposed to screw the air tube into my stock and use a remote line from there, but i didnt have a remote line and I stretched it into the co2 adapter underneath the e grip). I took the gun apart again and fixed it but then i couldnt get my bolt to go back. I then realized that an o ring had come off indide and i replaced it. After doing that my gun appeared fine and the bolt worked. I didnt get a chance to test it and I went to a local paintball place. I went to try and shoot my gun and the bolt was working fine but the gun wasnt getting any co2 flowing through. this really angered me. They workers at the paintball place were 70 year old ladies and they first told me to put on a new o ring on the tank because i lost alot of co2 when taking on off the co2, but when it still didnt work they didnt have a clue what was wrong with it. they then used my co2 tank on a rental and it worked fine. i ended up having to use the rental even though i just bought a 400 dollar gun. I dont know what it could be. I dont think its because i stretched the air tube to the bottom of my egrip because it worked earlier when it was choppin balls. also what does the little rod on the side of the cylone do. thanks

That little rod will cycle the cyclone feeder. It's how you would manually chamber the next round if you're running out of air. Feel free to push the rod in.

I would first recommend removing the flatline and installing the stock barrel, test that out.
If it's still screwed up remove the e-grip and put the stock grip back one. Test.

Just make sure you cock the A5 before you screw on your tank.

I already had a freak barrel on my gun when this happened. The balls are being fed properly its just like theres not enough co2 to push it out. I know im not low on co2 though because I played a whole day on it after testing. I did try pulling back the bolt before putting on co2 and that didnt work. When i shoot it i can hear a little bit of co2 but then nothing comes out. I can sometimes even see the co2 coming out of the barrel. I think its something internal or I have a bad hose.

Ok new findings. I switched out my air tube (silver woven thing) with my stock one because i thought the new one might of had a hole or something, but it still didnt work right. I then manually turned my cyclone with the little rod and cocked again. The gun fed a ball but it only shot about 2 feet. I Imagine its a problem with the air feeding system then since the cyclone is having trouble and the balls arent going far. post any ideas please.
