Local PBS vs. Sports Authority

Can someone chime in here?

Sports Authority is currently having a sale on their makers and equipment, 10% off. I also have a $25 coupon off of a purchase. Altogether this makes it almost reaonsable to buy an X7 straight from them; actually two, because I'll be getting one for my son as well.

The local PB shop mentioned to me yesterday that the difference between buying directly from the PB shop and from the "box" stores (e.g. sports authority) is that the PB stores are made in the U.S., while box store guns are made in china. Honestly it doesn't bother me where they're made, so much as long they're the same quality.

While I'll give my local PBS the business as far as paintballs, tank purchase(s)/refills, masks, etc. my questions it this . . . are markers purchased at Sports Authority any different than one bought at the local PBS?

It's kinda hard to pass up an X7 for $246.00

There's no difference between box and pro store markers, they're all made the same place. But consider this, by buying from your local shop you support paintball. Sports authority doesn't care about paintball, doesn't promote nor sponsor it and often sells junk. Pro stores have qualified personell that know what they're doing and can/will provide you with adequate support should you need it, and they promote paintball and often sponsor paintball teams.

I would personal recommend the local paintball shop as they will be able to fix the marker for you with out alot of hassle and some of them offer some kind of warranty in addition to the manufactures.

For example the one that is right next to the field that I work at, they offer 1 year of free labor for any repair they might have to do to the marker.
