a-5, x-7 and bt

Ive owned a m98 for years (8 actually) I have it tricked out and its awesome (god i love tippmann's).
Now that my son is 13 and wants to play pb I was gonna pass it onto him since its such a great gun. Since ill be getting a new gun I was looking at either an a-5 or an x-7, or maybe even a bt. Yet I cant really tell the difference between them other then some cosmetic looks.
Can anyone tell me how well the x-7 barrels are or is an a-5 with another barrel good? What would give me the most for my buck.
Just for a comparison ill give what i have on my 98.
Lapco bigshot barrel (god that barrel rocks)a drop forward and an expansion chamber and a red dot sight. And ill say this up front....unlike allot of other I actually use my red dot sight and it is surprisingly accurate and saves me allot of paint. Sorry i see people bashing sights and I love to use mine. But then again i was a marine for 15 years and using sights is how i was trained. Id rather putt 3 balls accurately on a target then fire 50 in the general direction.
LOL...sorry for the rant. Any input on these 3 guns would be greatly appreciated.

there's no difference between any of them underneath all the plastic looks.

They are all a 98 inside. The A5 is a 98 with a Cyclone and the X7 is an A5 with a body kit. The BT4 is a 98 but with a few tweaks and a much better build quality than newer Tippmann 98Cs. BT was founded by Ben Tippmann after the rest of the Tippmann family sold the company to an investment firm and ironically the BT4 is the only marker worthy of the Tippmann reputation. Now I'd say that after 8 years with the same marker you should venture outside the world of inline blowbacks but if you think you have a good thing going buy a BT4 and I think you'll be surprised.

oh the bt markers are not the tippman new crap? that's reassuring, actually. I did not know that.

Same inline blowback design but the quality is night and day different. BT products are what Tippmann products used to be.
