Question X7 or X7 Phenom???

I can't decide between these two markers.
-Firstly, what are the pros and cons of both.
-Secondly, What other options are there other than a Tippman that can perform at a similiar level and and are possibly cheaper...

One other thing, if i was to get a red dot sight(not SHOULD i get one) which sight/manufacturer should i go for, and how can i pick the right riser/offset for an X7 or any other marker...

Thanks.

The X7 is a mechanical blowback and the X7 Phenom is an electronic spool valve. The X7 is cheaper and doesn't need batteries. The X7 Phenom is a little pricier and requires batteries. The Phenom being a true electronic spool valve marker will shoot very fast and smooth and of course also has a select fire switch to toggle between firing modes.

As for other options than a Tippmann that depends on what you are looking for. If you want an electronic marker that can run on Co2 there aren't very many of those around anymore. If you want a mechanical marker there are tons of them. If you want the milsim real gun lookalike stuff there are a few options but Tippmanns are really the most customizable.

There is a lot of variety out there and without knowing exactly what your criteria is it is really hard to suggest something.

For a red dot sight buy one from NcStar they actually market to paintballers and will warranty their products for paintball use. When shopping for a riser or offset or any accessory like that you have to be sure of what the rails are on your marker. You basically have a few options there is weaver, picatinny and dovetail. Make sure whatever accessory you buy matches the rails on your marker or it won't fit without buying an adapter.

Btw, what are the different firing modes on the Phenom? Also, could you be a bit more precise about the rails if thats not too much too ask...
But thanks anyway.

The firing modes are semi, full auto, three round burst, response (shoots on trigger pull&release)... and I can't remember the other one but I think it's another ramping mode.

With the rails the different types are just different styles for attaching accessories.

Picatinny

Weaver

The Dovetail I couldn't find a good write up on.

All you need to know is that every reddot and tactical accessory will be of one of the mount types. If you try to put a red dot that uses a Weaver rail on a dovetail it won't fit. There isn't really anything else to explain that I can think of.
