Exclamation Tippmann A-5 Beginner Thread

Hello I'm planning on getting an HPA tank, double trigger, a Collapsible Stock, and a 16" J&J Ceramic Barrel or a 14" CP One Piece Classic Paintball Barrel .693. I need to know which barrel is better and I need to know what size to get it in. I have heard 14" is better. At the moment I am using the regular $180 Tippmann A-5 with a 12 oz co2 bottle and heat .68 balls. Will the balls work with either barrel? Also, I don't have any local paintball shops so I don't know where to get an HPA tank or where to refill it at. Can I refill it at academy?

I have $160 but I plan on spending around $60. I want to get the tank badly but I think I'm going to wait till I get more $$$.

Here's the plan:

$? HPA Tank
I haven't found a good one yet

$7 Double Trigger:
Amazon.com: Tippmann A5 Tippman A-5 Double Trigger & Guard: Sports & Outdoors

$0 Collapsible Stock(Rebate to all A-5 People):
Rebate Center

$30 16" J&J Ceramic Barrel
J&J Ceramic Tippmann A5 / X7 Paintball Barrel - 16 inch

$30 14" CP One Piece Classic Paintball Barrel .693
CP One Piece Classic Paintball Barrel - 14 Inch .693

So, $37 Total for 3 items. I'm not including the tank because I'm probably not going to buy it. Lemme know what yall think. I will read any suggestions and answers.

for the barrel, im a J&J fan but have nothing against CP, i would however get a 689 bore over a 693, thats just a little too big

for the length between 12" and 16" its all personal preference, there is no noticable performance difference, some like shorter barrels for mobility some like longer ones to poke through bushes

idk what acadamy is but the easiest way is to call and ask. also look for scuba shops around you, they can usually fill tanks. and sometimes a fire station will or at least know where to get fills, so before getting a HPA tank you better find out if you can get it filled around you

your list looks good to me. but you do need a nice mask still remember

Tippmann A-5 M4 Kit

Haha Academy is a sports store. It's the closest thing I have to a paintball store.

Academy Sports + Outdoors - Sporting Goods Store

That's where I got my mask. It's a paintball mask that I use for airsoft. Here's a pic:

I'm going to buy the tank later. I don't play paintball enough to spend more than $60 on 1 item. I am going to get the J&J barrel online if my dad will let me. he doesn't like ordering online. I wasn't sure if you said this earlier but is there a size 14" 1 piece? Well I'm getting off ttyl

dont use CO2. its possible but gennerally not very fun. once you reach that cold a lot of funky things can happen to your equipment
