Cool Noob who just bought a Tippmann A-5

Wasn't sure if I should post this in the noob or tippmann section but here it goes . . . I've been playing paintball maybe 2-3 times a year over the past 2-3 years. I decided it was time to buy my own gun but I didn't want to get something too expensive in case I grew out of it. I decided on getting a Tipmmann A-5 for its noob friendliness, I also got a 14" J&J ceramic barrel. I play mostly large scenario games as well as some woodsball games. I was wondering what kind of performance and/or aesthetic upgrades the community here recommends. Here are the areas I was looking to upgrade:

Buttstock- something that will let me look down the sight better while wearing goggles. Doesn't have to be adjustable. I saw that the SAW one had good reviews.

Remote Coil- Was wondering if players recommended a remote coil or not. What advantage/disadvantages does it give.

Rails/Mounts- I would like to put on some type of sight for aesthetic purposes (I realize it doesn't do much) what rails/mounts would work for my A-5.

Triggers- I want to stay away from the E-trigger for now and learn how to play the game correctly without spraying. Does a response trigger really make a difference? Ditto for the double trigger.

I don't want to spend a lot of money on any single upgrade I was looking for items in the $20-$50 range.

True but that doesn't really answer the questions.

In general stocks don't let you look down the sights at all because your mask will get in the way. If I had to recommend a stock I'd tell you to track down some of the old dogleg stocks that Special Ops used to make. They might be making them again but I do know there are some still floating around out there.

Remote coils are a personal choice. The advantage they give you is that they take the big and bulky tank off your marker. The disadvantage is that you have a hose to babysit on the field. They can get caught on branches and they make switching your shooting hand very difficult (not that you are likely to be switching hands with an A5) and are a bit of a hassle. A lot of players love them though and until you try it you'll never know.

Your A5 uses a dovetail rail system so you need to find things that mount with a dovetail. Alternatively you can find adapters that will mount to the dovetail and let you use weaver and picatinny rails.

A properly tuned response trigger is just as fast an etrigger you just don't have as much control. The double trigger doesn't do anything.

Check out this link:

E and response trigger

Response Trigger guide

Definitely the response trigger at least as the next mod. If you want to keep it challenging then try not to enable it. Playing the game the opponent will do inventory, and will go after the "weakest" link. At least have it as a back up in case you get ambushed. Its like having that extra gear on a bike to make it over the hill. Does not mean you will use it all the time, but gives some sense of confidence knowing you can count on it when shyt hits the fan.

when i'm playing, I don't see what people are shooting, and assess their skill by that. I take into account how they are playing, how aggressive they are, what skills they show, etc etc..

Judging a player by what marker they own is an amateur mitake
