Tippman cocking mechanism issue

I recently bought a Tippman 98 custom. I installed a dual trigger, and since I've had a problem with the cocking mechanism. When I pull it back it doesn't reset far enough forward to fire when I pull the trigger. I have to push it toward about a quarter of an inch before the trigger will work. Everything seems well lubricated and all the pieces seem to be in place but it still doesn't work. Will putting air pressure into the system fix this or is it a problem with the mechanism?

go over the sear and springs inside the grip frame, sounds like something is not installed correctly.

However, airing it up shouldn't hut anything, may as well give it a try.

if it wont release the hammer without air, nothing is going to change once you put air into it

id start with the sear, sounds like something is binding in there and not allowing it to catch the trigger
