Speedball Questions

I have woodsballed for maybe 2 years, and I have never played speedball, but I am interested in it. I am buying a new marker, trying to incorporate speedball "value" into the decision. Is part of speedball just who can throw out the most paint? Are electronic markers pretty much necessary to speedball decently? I was thinking about buying the Spyder Rodeo, because it fits nicely into my price range, because, along with this, I am buying:

Carbon-Fiber HPA Tank
HPA Tank Cover
Halo B w/ Rip Drive
A JT Proflex or Proteus depending on money

Because I can use these for all of my future guns.

Would I be able to play speedball with a Spyder Rodeo (mech)? Or should I save up the extra $130 and buy a refurbished Ion? I am 14 in the middle of the school year and money's really hard to come by. The only reason I have the $400 and some I do now is because I am selling all of my old airsoft stuff, so I cannot really afford a new Ion. I can't afford the refurbished Ion at the moment, either, but if I need to I can save up.

So, put the Ion out of the question for a moment. Would I be able to speedball with the Spyder Rodeo (and a few upgrades, of course)? Also, if I put an e-grip on it, would I need to put eyes on it and a new bolt? I wouldn't put the e-grip on it for maybe a year or so, but I'm just wondering.

Thanks, and sorry for such a long post.

hmm an electronic marker helps very much in speedball. i suggest getting a spyder imagine (like 100 bucks from xpaintball) and then getting that other stuff, because yeah you will need it down the line, but you can buy it later.

Well your list of stuff you are buying is very through. Only thing you are missing is a nice pod pack. Just buy a used one when you have $$.

Don't get the rodeo. Save up and just buy a stock ion off the internet for like $250.

I already have all my pods stuff taken care of. I told you I've already played for two years ;)

Actually, I'll probably pick up a pack when I have some spare cash. For now, I have camo pants I always wear with big pockets that I can stuff pods into. Sounds weird, but I've never had any problems.

How do all the electro spyders handle chopping, if they don't have anti chop bolts or eyes? The imagine, for example.

Since I've decided on the Rodeo pretty much (I can use it at ANY field, it can run on CO2 if the field doesn't have HPA fills), I'm going to buy a revvy instead of the Halo B, since it's $45 cheaper, I'm not on any huge budget, and it should still be fast enough.

don tget the rodeo get the imagine. just becasue the rodeo is more expensive doesn tmeen its better almost all of the spyder internals are the same. and if you buy the imagine instead use the extra money to buy some timmy parts and turn your spyder into a spimmy.

What gun do you have now? Spyders aren't a big upgrade over any gun.. Personally if you have no gun and can't spend much I'd buy the cheapest electronic gun you can find on ebay. Piranha, Spyder, whatever.. Get quality accessories you can use down the road. HPA, Hopper, Paint harness, Goggles.

OK, first of all.. I can get a brand new EVO for $130, so I don't know why I'd take a used one for $134 (if it's used..)

Anyway, for now I'm thinkin' the imagine is the way to go. I'll hold off on HPA until I need it, since for now I'm basically restarting my life in paintball. I used to be really into it maybe 2 or 3 years ago, took a break, now I want to get into it again.

I'll get the imagine, a revvy, a better mask, and then go to ottersccustoms and see what parts I need to make a spimmy. If anyone knows a better place showing how to make a spimmy, then please show me. Anyway, I'm gonna buy timmy parts with the extra money and start the conversion gradually.

You don't have to make a spimmy all at once do you?

And is there a place you can get a timmy body that fits a spyder? For example, is there a way to make my Imagine look similar to a Russian Legion timmy? (those things are nice looking!)

Is it just me, or is it getting harder and harder to find an imagine anymore? Maybe I'll go for the Electra, or another electro spyder. Recommendations?

Well, I found an '05 Imagine for $136.50, anyone find a cheaper one?
