Yes, but Spyder and Azodin weren't once indistructable. Tippmanns were.

For better or worse, many people believe they still are even though they're not, and that's the reason they are willing to spend more for Tippmann even though it offers no real benefits for the extra money.

Given this, I feel that it IS pertinent to the discussion, since the fact is that many people's impression is false and Trbo is simple dispelling this no longer true belief.

No argument from me on the design changes I still own a Pro Am I bought brand new and haven't replaced so much as an oring I just think that how he worded it comes across as being from a fanboy. Again if Tippmanns being made in China=lowers quality (for the few that are made in China) than it follows that other markers made in China=lower quality. If all you are trying to get across is that the design was changed and they aren't as reliable as their reputation would have you believe leave the China part out of it. I'm not so much arguing about the Tippmann bashing I'm just suggesting that it be edited if he wants to maintain some credibility.

alright craw ill fix that it says they are all made overseas. but weather it says that or not does not change the fact that tippmanns do not live up to the reputation that they were founded on or the false belief that they still are tanks. the 98 has come down in quality and the A5 doesnt have the best track record either from what iv seen out of it (when the metal they use to make the shell forms a bur in the breach because it is too soft and that particular a5 had to be taken apart so many times, it doesnt speak good for the brand)

not to mention with the 98 being so popular, why would you start making it worse?

They decided to make it worse the minute a family owned business was sold to a huge conglomerate with zero interest in paintball and zero understanding of the value of the Tippmann reputation. Even with the design changes I'd still rate the inline blowback design the most rugged in forgiving design in the history of semi auto paintball markers and replace the plastic powertube with a metal one and you've eliminated the part most often to fail on them right off the bat.

so you are saying because tippmann cant get it right you should buy a marker that is already overpriced and then turn around, go back to the shop and put more money into it to fix what they did not get right? So why not just do the same thing to a brass eagle?

even if you add the cost of a cup seal and a crap ton of o-rings into a spyder, you will still be spending less money for a marker that has more features, i fail to see why a tippmann should be purchased

if you think im bias thats fine, but as iv said the second spyder starts producing crap ill stop recommending them, but that time has not come yet

if you really want to defend the inline blowback, shouldnt you be arguing for BT? after all unless i am mistaken they are still made in the US, still cheaper than tippmann, and still use the aluminum power tube (if i find conformation on that ill throw it all in) seems rather odd that if your point is to defend the inline blowback you are arguing for tippmann whos quality has known to have gone down and they make one of the highest priced and least equipped inline blowbacks in the industry

There was a time when you could recommend a Brass Eagle they are the poster child for what happens when a small company is sold to a huge company and actually I don't have too many problems with the newer Brass Eagles either they are basically Spyders right? The bias isn't that you say you can get more features in a Spyder for the same or less money than a Tippmann that is a fact. The bias is that you dump on the brand so quickly that you didn't bother to check your facts and say that Tippmanns are no longer any good because they are made in China so buy this Spyder that is made in China. Inline blowbacks are very reliable and to a new player that isn't likely to properly clean their marker and is probably terrified to open it up to repair it telling them to buy a bunch of seals and orings isn't much help. It's your guide and I don't really feel like arguing Tippmann vs Spyder I just think that when you make a guide it should reflect facts like "mask A has a thermal lens and mask B has doesn't and here is why you should buy A". Instead of being something like "I don't like this stuff buy this stuff instead". You don't come right out and say that but when you read your guide critically that is exactly what it reads like.

again

I DONT CARE WHERE ANYTHING IS MADE

and truth be told we have been saying all tippmanns have been made in china for a few years now but nobody has corrected that, hence why it was in there. it is now not however but just because that piece of information is not there does not change the markers or what they are, and really if thats all you have an issue with i see no reason why you are dragging on this discussion

if i really did write it saying "dont buy this" dont you think i would have put something in the 98 section saying that? in the a5 section i even said get a 98 instead rather than pointing players to spyder

and lets be honest i didnt write this to comfort new players that the marker they have been loosing sleep over is the shimmering gem they hope it is, i wrote it as a truthful down to earth guide outlining the good AND BAD of each marker AND BRAND. i got tired of the last one just basically doing nothing but comforting someone who already wants a marker that is not a good value or not suited for them

The MR100
BASE $100 /with e-frame $140

Hello guys im new to this forum, and I don't mean to be interupting the debate on Tippman and what not, I just have a question about the e-frame. Do you know that the MR100 is going to have an e-frame package like it's previous version use to have, or did you just say this because the MR1 had a package like that. Not saying it's legit, but I would like to know, because I am probably going to buy the MR100 when it comes out and, for fun, I would like to have an elctric gun. Thnx for any info you can get for me.

ya ill probably just group those at the bottom of the tippmann section.

i left out non-US made tanks on purpose. with prices so similar i really dont feel its any advantage to buying an overseas one. not to mention all the US companies make better product in my book

Well where I am there is only one paintball store, and they do not like Spyder, so they do not sell them(Don't know why). Wal-mart and the closest Acadamey do not sell the the "electric" MR1 either. I own a mechanical black MR1, and it's what I play with, but I would like to have the ability to go automatic for fun. Wanting to buy the new MR100 I would like to know for sure that there will be a electronic gun package. I can't find any information on it when I go to Kingman's website, because there focus is on the MRX. If I'm not making much sense, I will try to put the question as simple as possible. Are you sure the MR100 will have a package that comes with an electronic trigger/e-frame?
